Studio One Eleven-designed 4th+Linden captured the 2011 Westside Urban Forum Honor Award in the Mixed Use category, as recently announced by the organization. Winning firms and projects will be honored at a luncheon and awards presentation on June 10 at Casa del Mar in Santa Monica.

The Congress for the New Urbanism honored the best examples of new urbanism at the 2011 Charter Awards lunch held on June 2 during the 19th Annual Congress in Madison, Wisc. Studio One Eleven Senior Principal Alan Pullman, AIA, and Principal Michael Bohn, AIA, were in attendance to accept honorable mention honors for 4th+Linden, which was recognized in the Blocks/Streets/Building category.

LONG BEACH (May 19, 2011) - Perkowitz+Ruth Architects (P+R) has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an ENERGY STAR service provider. Through this partnership with the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program, P+R will work to make better decisions about energy efficiency during the design process to reduce the carbon footprint of operating buildings.

NEW ORLEANS (May 12, 2011) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that 79 commercial building design projects achieved Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR certification in the past year. The Agency recognized the projects and respective teams at a ceremony held at the AIA National Convention in New Orleans on May 12.

After taking part in a seven-day work week in John’s Island, SC last Fall, P+R’s Jamillah Muhammad made a personal commitment to soon return for a second volunteer trip with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program. The Global Village program allows volunteers to experience another culture while also making a difference in the lives of those for whom you would be building. Global Village volunteers work alongside members of the host community in building decent, affordable housing.

The Long Beach Senior Arts Colony, a transit-oriented senior housing development designed by Studio One Eleven, broke ground on April 21 with a ceremony hosted by developer Meta Housing Corporation and the City of Long Beach.

The DC Studio of Perkowitz+Ruth Architects was presented with the Grand Prize in the Integrated Building Design Category at the BrickStainable Competition Award Ceremony on March 31. The ceremony, which was held at the National Building Museum in Washington DC, honored seven award winners of the second-annual competition presented by Potomac Valley Brick.
