The Congress for the New Urbanism honored the best examples of new urbanism at the 2011 Charter Awards lunch held on June 2 during the 19th Annual Congress in Madison, Wisc. Studio One Eleven Senior Principal Alan Pullman, AIA, and Principal Michael Bohn, AIA, were in attendance to accept honorable mention honors for 4th+Linden, which was recognized in the Blocks/Streets/Building category.

LONG BEACH (May 19, 2011) - Perkowitz+Ruth Architects (P+R) has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an ENERGY STAR service provider. Through this partnership with the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program, P+R will work to make better decisions about energy efficiency during the design process to reduce the carbon footprint of operating buildings.

After taking part in a seven-day work week in John’s Island, SC last Fall, P+R’s Jamillah Muhammad made a personal commitment to soon return for a second volunteer trip with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program. The Global Village program allows volunteers to experience another culture while also making a difference in the lives of those for whom you would be building. Global Village volunteers work alongside members of the host community in building decent, affordable housing.
